Action Alert: Protect Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians
Haitian clergy will lead a briefing for congressional staff in the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday, March 24, highlighting the importance of the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) discharge petition introduced by Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley.
Before and after the briefing, faith leaders and advocates will visit congressional offices to share information with members who have not yet signed the petition.
TPS provides critical protection for individuals who cannot safely return to their home countries due to ongoing crises. The U.S. Supreme Court has also taken up the TPS court case, and a decision is expected in the future.
How you can help:
-
Pray for those affected by the TPS decision, especially Haitian families in Springfield and across the country.
-
Contact your members of Congress and urge them to support protections for TPS recipients.
-
Share information about the importance of TPS with your community.
