On August 11th, a Vacation Bible School was held at Corpus Christi Parish in Willimantic, CT. Children from age five through fourth grade were invited to participate from 9:00am to noon in St Joseph Church hall. The theme for the week was: Vacation Bible School Pilgrimage, “Journey to Jesus”.

Besides the two half hour opening and closing sessions dealing with the theme given by the two adult leaders of the week — Sharon and Shaoshanah, the participants were put into two groups and enjoyed the five activities led by five  — Aurelia, Kate, Tracy, Fireese, Sr. Marie Pauline Guillemette, DHS and several other volunteer helpers. The five activities were: Bible Study, Snacks, Crafts, Sports and Music.

Sr. Marie Pauline led the Music activity. She taught the children and some helpers how to play the harmonica. The participants learned three songs that they could continue to practice at home. The children also enjoyed playing spoons and the wooden dancing puppet.

The Vacation Bible School session ended on Friday a closing Mass presided by Fr. Larry and Fr. Michael with the participants, parents, parishioners leading the Spanish liturgy music, followed by ice cream treats and Sr. Marie Pauline playing her four woman band instruments.

A welcomed and pleasant time was enjoyed by all who aNended. Praise God!
