In an atmosphere of fraternity and renewal, the Latin American Province of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood (CPPS) held its Provincial Assembly from February 2nd to 6th at the Blessed Giovanni Merlini Retreat House. The gathering brought together members from the districts of Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Guatemala, and Peru, with the presence and guidance of the General Moderator, Fr. Emanuele Lupi.
Strengthening Identity and Mission
The day was marked by profound moments of reflection on the identity of the Congregation and Community Life, highlighting the importance of the “Blood of Christ as hope for the Province.” A call was made to avoid stagnation and to renew the missionary zeal, remembering that Community is the primary apostolate.
Among the most significant agreements, the Assembly unanimously approved the opening of a new mission: the pastoral care of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in San Carlos de Guaroa, Colombia, as a sign of ecclesial growth and service.
Vocations and the Lay Associates: The Future of the Province
Significant progress was presented in two key areas:
* Vocation Ministry: A new accompaniment and discernment plan for young and adult vocations was launched, seeking to create a true “Culture of Vocations” in all districts.
* Lay Associates: The fruits of the recent symposium were shared, reaffirming that the laity are one of the greatest hopes for the mission, with a consolidated formation program and a shared identity.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of the six Core Values of the XXII General Assembly, which call for conversion, communion, mission on the margins, and Spirit-guided leadership. The Assembly concluded with a Thanksgiving Eucharist, sending the missionaries forth to continue being “Hope for the world.”
