Funeral Arrangements: Sister Mary Anne Burkardt died Thursday, March 19, 2026, in Louisville at Nazareth Home. May she rest in God’s eternal peace. Sister Mary Anne will have a Wake at Nazareth Home at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 26. She will arrive at Nazareth Motherhouse at 4 p.m. that same day. A second Wake will be held at Nazareth Motherhouse at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 26. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 27. As the Community gathers in prayer, we commend Sister Mary Anne to God, trusting in the promise of new life.
Prayer Service for Mother Catherine: Please find attached a letter from Central Leadership and a prayer service for Mother Catherine’s anniversary of her entrance into eternal life on March 20.
Run with a Mission: We are gearing up for the Nazareth 5K on Saturday, May 16 at 8:00 a.m. This year’s theme, Peace, Love, and Tie-Dye, will bring a colorful and fun atmosphere for runners and families.
- Sisters, if you will be in attendance and would like a tie‑dye shirt, please notify Sister Services by Thursday, April 16, and include your shirt size. If you would like to cheer on participants along the 5K route, please let Sister Services know by May 1. Signs and pom‑poms will be provided.
- Employees are encouraged to participate as well. Your registration fee will be waived, and you will receive a tie-dye shirt. Please complete your registration here or stop by OMA to pick up a registration form.
- We are seeking volunteers to assist with parking, directional stations, and water/hydration tables. Volunteers will receive a tie-dye shirt. Availability is needed from 7:00 a.m. to approximately 9:45 a.m. on May 16. Easter Egg Hunt: OMA is excited to host the Nazareth Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 28, weather permitting, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This free community event will take place on the Nazareth Motherhouse campus and is open to children ages 0–10. Families can enjoy taking their own photos with the Easter Bunny, making crafts with the Sisters, and purchasing kettle corn.
Bowman Cherry Center: The Nelson County Black Citizens Arts Council will host the grand opening of the new Bowman Cherry Center on April 10 at 5 p.m. in Bardstown, Kentucky. Built between 1905 and 1923 as the first public school for Black children in Nelson County, the site has been rebuilt after years of deterioration. The Center will reopen to offer programs in arts, education, technology, and local history. The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth were honored to support this rebuild. Community members are invited to celebrate and take part in its renewed mission.

Super Raffle: The Super Raffle is now open. The grand prize is $20,000! Only 3,000 tickets are available. The Drawing will be held July 10, 2026, at 1 p.m., live from Nazareth, Kentucky. SCN/A Vacation at Camp Maria: Aug. 12-20, 2026, you are invited to join the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and Associates for a time of prayer, rest, and renewal at Camp Maria Retreat Center in Leonardtown, Maryland. The SCNs and Associates vacation runs Aug 12–20, 2026. The cost is $300 per person and includes meals. Register online at campmaria.org or mail this flyer with payment.
Archival Center Temporary Closing: The Archival Center is closed to visitors during the remodeling of the Collection Storage Room. Staff will continue to respond to archives requests by phone and email throughout this period and encourage inquiries as needed. An announcement will be shared when the Archival Center reopens in the coming months.
