In St. Catherine, Kentucky, music filled St. Catherine Hall as the Mid-Kentucky Chorus presented “This Land Is Your Land,” a community concert marking the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Among the performers were Sister Rita Davis and Sister Susan Gatz, who sang with a large regional chorus and guest musicians. The performance drew a full crowd, with standing room only by the final selections.

The program featured a mix of patriotic and familiar songs. By the closing numbers, many in attendance were clapping and singing along.
Sister Rita has been part of the chorus for many years and Sister Susan. When asked if they had fun, “Oh, we always do. It’s such a pleasure,” Sister Rita said. The two have continued singing together through seasonal concerts and special events like this anniversary celebration.
The chorus brought together a wide range of voices, with dozens of singers filling the risers at St. Catherine Hall. Several Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and friends attended the concert in support, adding to the strong sense of community throughout the evening.
One highlight included a guest dressed as Abraham Lincoln, a nod to the historical theme that drew smiles from the audience.
