Brother Armin Luistro, Superior General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, has appointed Brother Frank Byrne for a second term as Auxiliary Visitor of the District of Eastern North America (DENA), from 1 September 2025 to 30 June 2029. Brother Frank’s appointment follows the reappointment of Brother Robert Schaefer as Visitor of the same District, from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2029.

Brother Armin addressed the following words to Brother Frank in his official letter of appointment: “It is with pleasure that I confirm your appointment as Auxiliary Visitor of the District of Eastern North America (DENA), concurring with Brother Bob’s second term and with gratitude for your generous willingness to continue in this role.” “I am well aware that you have held leadership roles for much of your ministerial service,” Fr. Armin continues, “and it is precisely these experiences that provide you with the wisdom and perspective to continue to support Brother Bob as his closest collaborator. In addition, your voice and participation in the animation of the District and in the collaborative efforts of the Region will continue to be greatly appreciated.”

In addition to encouraging the District to continue its commitment to ensuring governance structures that foster shared leadership and appreciating the way in which the District has aligned its priorities with the mandates of the 46th General Chapter, Brother Armin expresses his gratitude “for the way in which the DENA continually and generously responds to the needs of the Institute.”

For his part, Brother Frank, who took his first vows in 1982 and his perpetual vows in 1987, has previously served as a teacher for his District and as Director and Principal of several educational institutions, until his first appointment as Auxiliary Visitor in 2021.

“I look forward to continuing to work with Brother Robert Schaefer as Visitor of the DENA District. “Over the past four years, numerous activities have taken place in our District, which will certainly continue to be implemented. Brother Robert’s leadership and vision are greatly appreciated by the Brothers, the boards of directors and those responsible for our ministries. I am therefore delighted and grateful to be able to assist him in completing his second term of office,” said Brother Frank enthusiastically.

Brother Armin Luistro, the General Council and the entire Lasallian Family assure Brother Frank of their support and prayers so that he may continue to be guided by the spirit of faith and zeal in accompanying the District and in carrying out all that has been entrusted to him.
