Bearers of Hope

As we prepare to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati joined congregations across the country in signing the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) Declaration of Commitment, which was delivered to Congress on Thursday, June 25. As bearers of hope, we pledged to live with compassion, courage, and love, remaining steadfast in our commitment to justice, human dignity, and the common good while responding faithfully to the challenges of our time. Read it here.

In solidarity with this national witness, the Sisters of Charity gathered in the Mother Margaret Hall Community Room on June 25 during the declaration’s delivery to Congress for an hour of prayer. Together, they prayed for unity, renewed their commitment to the values upheld by LCWR, and affirmed their shared witness to hope, justice, and Gospel living.
