A Bicentenary Pilgrimage to River Falls
Home
June 24, 2026
As the Bicentennial Jubilee Pilgrimage was coming to its climax in Froyennes on June 24th, the sisters in the US Area were offered two more local pilgrimage possibilities. One was an “at home” contemplative pilgrimage, prepared by Sister Joan Guertin, that could be celebrated by individuals or in small groups. The other was an invitation from the Holy Union community at River Falls, an assisted living facility, to join them and other residents on the Baptist’s feast for Eucharist and a festive reception. Clearly the invitation was very welcome … almost twenty sisters accepted the invitation and went as pilgrims to join the River Falls community in marking our Founder’s patronal feast in this bicentennial season! The presider at the Eucharist, a retired priest of the Fall River Diocese, knows our congregation well, having served with us in parish and school ministry. After the Eucharist, other residents and facility staff joined the sisters in conversation and a “sweet” reception. Whether we celebrated through the “at home” pilgrimage or at River Falls, we were united with all our sisters, associates and friends, colleagues and collaborators. June 24, 2026 was a great day for all of us!
