“Brothers Worldwide” is the title of the new podcast in which the Youth and Pastoral Ministry of Vocations team of the Norandino District in Venezuela recounts the attractive missionary journey of some Brothers of the Christian Schools who have shared their Lasallian charism in Venezuela, with a focus on vocations and in the context of the 2026 World Cup.

“It is an initiative that emerged from the 4th District Chapter, driven by the need to raise awareness of the life, history and vocation of the De La Salle Brothers,” explains Br. Hernán Crespo. To make this possible, “through short interviews set against the backdrop of the World Cup, the Brothers recount their life stories and weave in phrases or experiences linked to football”

Vocational testimonies

“Through these testimonies, we aim for the message of our mission to resonate and inspire young people exploring their vocation to embrace the experience of being a Brother with genuine conviction,” say the podcast organisers, who in their first season, starting on 17 April, will explore the vocational stories of Brothers José García, Andrés Haro, José David Berbesí, Leonardo López, Juan Bosco Chacón, Hernán Crespo, Jesús Márquez and Jaime Salazar.

In total, there will be seven episodes available week by week on the YouTube channel of the La Salle Youth and Vocational Ministry in Venezuela, whilst the Instagram accounts @sallevenezuela and @pjv_venezuela will share short clips featuring some of the most significant moments from each interview.

For Brother Jairo Reyes, who acts as interviewer in each episode, this “has been a very enriching experience, because it allowed me to get closer to and learn more about the lives of my Brothers in the Lasallian Norandino District in Venezuela. I experienced it with the joy of the encounter and with the enthusiasm of bringing to fruition a project born of the District Chapter”.

Fraternity, our greatest treasure

“Brothers Worldwide leaves me with a deeply rewarding legacy. Discovering that other Brothers have walked the same paths I am walking today, realising that nothing has been easy. However, amidst the challenges inherent to human reality, they have known how to make the most of every situation as an opportunity to grow, both personally and as a community,” continues the young Ecuadorian Brother.

“I carry deep in my heart the certainty that fraternity is and will continue to be our greatest treasure, for it allows us to live each stage of our lives as brothers with intensity and meaning,” adds Br. Jairo.

This perspective is aptly expressed in the podcast’s motto: “the game of life is played as a team”.

The seven episodes of the first season were recorded at three locations in Venezuela: the Colegio La Salle La Colina and the Oficina Nacional La Salle in Caracas, and the Colegio San José La Salle located in the city of Puerto Cabello. Production was handled by the Oficina Nacional La Salle, together with the Communication and Youth and Vocational Ministry Coordination teams of the Norandino District in Venezuela.
