The 2025 National Assembly’s theme was “Rejoice in Hope: Solidarity and Fraternity.” This theme, inspired by the Jubilee year and the initiative of the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (DICLSAL) for those in Consecrated Life to focus on reconciliation and peace, addressed a number of pressing issues related to solidarity: the preferential option for the poor, pro-life work, care of our common home, and migration. Arising from reflection on the Assembly theme and the migration discussion, during the Business Meeting, CMSM members agreed to make a statement on the current immigration situation in the United States. In response, CMSM has written a statement addressing the current state of immigration in the United States. The statement, which the CMSM Board has formally approved, affirms our commitment to stand in solidarity with migrants and refugees.
