Theme: The Gift of Living Waters
Ambiance for Ritual
(Place a large bowl of fresh water on a central table. If available, place small green leaves)
Leader: We gather today in the presence of the Creator, who poured out the waters of life upon the Earth. Just as the monsoon season comes to India, breaking the dry heat with abundant rain, bringing rejuvenation, growth, and life to the soil, so God’s grace flows over us.
All: Let the dry lands rejoice, and let the living waters flow through our hearts.
Leader: Today, as we prepare for the Season of Creation and meditate on the theme of Living Waters, we open our spirits to be renewed, refreshed, and called into care for all created life.

Leader: Let us pray.
God of the Heavens and the Earth, You sent the rains to quench the thirsty ground and turned the wilderness into pools of water. We thank You for the gift of water—for its power to cleanse, its capacity to nourish, and its promise of abundance. As we enter this sacred time, clear away our weariness. Saturate our hearts with Your Spirit, so that we may sprout seeds of justice, hope, and compassion for all of Your creation.
All: Amen.
Scripture Readings
Reading 1: Isaiah 44:3–4
“For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They shall spring up among the grass like willows by flowing streams.”
Reading 2: John 7:37–38
On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, “Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.

Prayers of the Faithful
Leader: Guided by the Spirit of God that hovered over the face of the waters at creation, let us bring our prayers for the Earth and all its inhabitants.
Reader 1: We pray for our planet Earth. May the rains fall where they are needed most, bringing relief to drought-stricken lands, restoring forests, and filling depleted rivers.
All: Pour out Your living waters, O Lord.
Reader 2: We pray for the nations and communities that depend on seasonal rains, like those who wait upon the monsoon. Grant them bountiful harvests, safety from floods, and economic security.
All: Pour out Your living waters, O Lord.
Reader 3: We pray for justice in access to clean, safe drinking water. Touch the hearts of leaders and policymakers to protect water sources from pollution and ensure that no person goes thirsty.
All: Pour out Your living waters, O Lord.
Reader 4: We pray for our own community as we prepare for the Season of Creation. May the theme of Living Waters transform our habits, deepen our eco-awareness, and inspire us to act as faithful guardians of creation.

Closing Blessing
Leader: May the God of Creation, who sends rain upon the earth and causes the seed to sprout, fill you with all joy and peace.
May Christ, the source of Living Water, refresh your soul and wash away all fear.
And may the Holy Spirit empower you to bring growth, rejuvenation, and abundance to a world in need.
All: Amen.
