Souper Bowl of Caring Raises More Than $28,000 for Local Food Pantry
The 20th annual Souper Bowl of Caring in Bardstown, Kentucky, raised $28,825 to support the Bread for Life Community Food Pantry, exceeding last year’s total by about $8,000.
Held at St. Joseph Parish Hall in February, the community event featured a soup and chili cook-off with local teams serving a range of dishes. Attendees sampled entries, voted for favorites, and supported hunger relief efforts in Nelson County.
Members of the Nazareth Mission Committee hosted the table representing the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. Both the chili con carne and vegetarian options sold out by the end of the evening.
Organizers announced the final total during a live video shared on social media. The funds will help Bread for Life continue providing food assistance to individuals and families facing food insecurity in the area.
