The Nazareth Motherhouse Campus welcomed hundreds of children and their families for a lively trick-or-treat event on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025. Under clear autumn skies, the evening brought together the broader community as kids ran around in color and creative costumes to trick-or-treat at booths set up by Sisters, Nazareth employees, Associates, Volunteers and community partners.

Returning this year was the crowd-favorite Ecto1 KY, a replica of the “Ghostbusters” vehicle, where visitors could stop for photos before heading off for more treats.

While many Halloween activities take place across the county, Nazareth’s event stands apart for its welcoming atmosphere and open grounds that offer a safe experience for all. For many families, it has become an annual stop in their October traditions.

“It was so fun taking my grandchildren to this event,” commented Sherry Troxell, a sentiment shared by many in attendance.

Spalding Hurst, Director of Mission Advancement for the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, extended a sincere thank you to all who made the event possible. “Appreciation goes to the Sisters and Associates for their participation, to partner organizations, especially Nazareth Villages, for their creativity, and to Nazareth employees from every department for their imaginative booths that brought joy to children and families,” Hurst said. “Most of all, special gratitude goes to the staff of the Office of Mission Advancement. Every year, their drive, enthusiasm, and spirit of mission make this celebration of community possible.”
