The Feast of St. Vincent de Paul brought several reasons for celebration for the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Kenya.
Six women who have participated in the Associate Formation program since 2024 made their first commitment during a Eucharistic celebration at the SCN residence in Marereni. The occasion marked an important milestone for the Kenya Mission.
During the celebration, the new Associates committed themselves to sharing in the SCN charism and supporting the Sisters in their ministries. Their commitment was received with great joy by the SCN community.
The celebration came during a week of other long-awaited developments.
On Sept. 25, the school received its certificate of registration from Kenya’s Ministry of Education. The Sisters had worked toward the registration for nearly two years.
That same day, Sister Helen Sathiya received her certificate from the Teachers Service Commission. The certification officially recognizes her as an educator and allows her to teach and serve in administrative positions. She had worked toward the certification for three years.
Together, the commitments and certificates made this year’s Feast of St. Vincent especially memorable for the Kenya Mission. The Sisters expressed deep gratitude for the people and opportunities that continue to strengthen their ministries and community.
