From June 2–5, 2025, the Sisters of Charity Federation gathered in Moncton, New Brunswick, for their Annual Meeting with the theme “Charity: Igniting Hope, Inspiring Action.” The gathering opened with prayer and song, uniting participants across congregations in ritual, reflection, and community.

Over four days, Sisters and Associates engaged in deep conversation on the legacy and future of the Federation. Key presentations included Sister Grace Hartzog’s video “Foundations of Hope” and a sobering global report from UN Representative Dr. Jimmy Walters on homelessness and water insecurity. Facilitator Sister Rebecca Gemma, OP, led synodal reflections and invited courageous dialogue on Federation structure, influence, and emerging directions.

Participants celebrated shared mission, honored outgoing Executive Director Sister Grace Hartzog, and expressed gratitude to hosts, the Sisters of Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Cœur. The gathering concluded with a closing liturgy, joyful banquet, and heartfelt musical tributes.

The next Assembly of the Whole will take place October 14–16, 2026, in Chicago.
