“May we be one in the Spirit” was the chosen theme for this year’s celebration of the anniversaries of  apostolic religious, consedrated seculars and associates of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in the Province of Putnam, CT.

These 10 women, now residing in Connecticut, Vermont, and Massachusetts, served the Congregation and God’s People for nearly 500 years, a notable figure indeed.

The event included a liturgy concelebrated by Rev. Laurence LaPointe, Edward Dempsey and René Parent, all special friends of the DHS.  Music and song were provided by Tom Gouin and Patty Johnson.

The ceremony also featured the renewal of vows and covenants by the jubilaarians and all other members of the three branches present.

Sr. Mchèle Bisaillon, Provincial, greeted the assembly and readings were offered by Sisters Marion Pepin and Jacqueline Robillard. Offertory gifts were presented  by Jubilarian Sr. Marie Pauline and representatives of the 3 Branches.

A few closing remarks by Fr. LaPointe led directly into the recessional song “O Jour le plus beau de ma vie” “O most beautiful day of my life” and on to the church hall for the reception so well prepared and served by dedicated members of Corpus Christi parish at the St. Joseph site in Willimantic, CT .

Mother Nature fully cooperated and gave us the weather that complemented this wonderful celebration of lives well lived for others and for the glory of our Creator God.

The photos help enhance everyone’s appreciation of this glorious day for our jubilarians and for all who traveled from near and far to shaare in one another’s joy.
