Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity’s encounter at Divine Mercy Parish, Milwaukee, Wisconsin with the young adults and parish leaders, including pastor, Fr. Joseph Sebastian, MCBS, was blessed in many ways. Sister Julie Ann Sheahan, Sister Mary Ann Spanjers and Franciscan Friar of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Province Fr. Joachim Studwell, OFM, were welcomed with genuine hospitality, a delicious supper and openness to deeper faith sharing. The desire of these young adults to grow in their love of Jesus in the Eucharist was evident in their participation, responses and attentiveness.
Here are some comments from participants:
“I really appreciate hearing and witnessing your true Franciscan Spirituality. I learned a lot about St. Francis, his connection and relationship with the cross, and modern- day Franciscans involvement in the mission of Christ.”
“Both presentations were engaging and passionate. Thank you for re-igniting my curiosity for the Eucharist and reminding me of the purpose to go both to our communities to love and serve. The history of St. Francis was fascinating and inspiring as well as both presenters’ personal stories.”
“I loved the personal connections that were made. Videos were visually appealing. I like the Adoration focus of the presentation.”
“I appreciated hearing your thoughts on God at work through Adoration. Fr. Kim’s personal stories were inspirational.”
” I really enjoyed the mix of videos and discussions and reflection time-I thought it was a great balance.”
