Register now for the 2026 National Assembly!

Hyatt Regency Phoenix | July 20-23, 2026

This year’s National Assembly will delve into the theme “One in Christ: Communal Life Today,” inviting members to reflect deeply on the vitality and witness of communal life in religious communities today. Through shared reflection and dialogue, participants will engage with fellow leaders to explore meaningful ways communal life can be strengthened, renewed, and enlivened.

Communal life is foundational to religious life and is expressed in many forms, from monastic communities to societies of apostolic life. Strong communal life is consistently cited by candidates to religious life as a key factor that draws them to a particular community. Amid this diversity, shared themes in community life emerge as important areas for reflection and discussion, including generational diversity, the need for structures that support wellness, and the desire for a deep, life-giving communal spiritual life.

This year’s gathering will include a Pre-Assembly themed “Adult Misconduct: Best Practices in Prevention, Protection, and Response” on Monday, July 20. The Pre-Assembly will provide an opportunity to learn best practices for preventing adult misconduct, safeguarding vulnerable persons, and responding effectively when it occurs. We will conclude our time with a Post-Assembly themed “Review Boards: Current Challenges and Responses” during the afternoon on Thursday, July 23. The Post-Assembly will examine the challenges associated with review boards and address common responses and best practices in light of the realities that major superiors face today.

Visit the National Assembly website to learn more and to register. We look forward to gathering together in Phoenix, AZ, for a meaningful and engaging Assembly.
