Dear Friend,
Happy New Year!
About a year ago, the Conference embarked on a process to discern and define its strategic priorities for the next three years. With the guidance of an outside consultant, RFC has been able to “write down the vision and make it plain” (Habakkuk 2:2).
Today, we are excited to share with members, partners, and friends the culmination of our year-long strategic visioning process.
Throughout this journey, we surveyed membership, held focus groups with leadership constituencies (e.g., Board of Directors, Programs and Initiatives Committee, etc.), hosted a Congress listening session with participants, and asked colleagues and peers to review drafts and provide input. In fact, this vision is not ours—but yours.
We are deeply grateful to all who contributed feedback and forward-looking insight throughout this planning process. Your perspectives helped shape the Conference’s direction and illuminate where the organization is being called to grow and serve in the years ahead.
Together, we prayerfully reflected on and mapped out pathways forward that prioritize the values, programs, and resources that cultivate personal and communal transformation within religious life, the Church, and the world of the 21st century.
We encourage you to review the strategic priorities for 2026-2028 and join us in co-creating the now and new of religious life.
While uncertainty, fear, and discord may shadow the road ahead, God’s faithfulness and grace will sustain us as we walk the unfolding path. As former U.N. Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold penned in his journal:
“For all that has been—thanks! For all that shall be—yes!”
Thank you for being a light of goodness in our world. It is a blessing to be church together!
Onward,
Ryan Hoffmann, DMin
Executive Director
