Today, we pause in gratitude to honor the contributions of all who labor with love, purpose and service, especially our devoted SCN Family members. Your dedication, whether seen in quiet moments or shared in Community, is a reflection of God’s presence in the world. May this Labor Day bring you rest, renewal and a deep sense of gratitude for all that you do.

Wishing you a peaceful, joyful and blessed Labor Day!

Corporate Voice: The Season of Creation runs from Sept.1 through Oct. 4. Let us each contemplate an action we can and will take in caring for creation this month.

Sustainabyte: September 1st marks the beginning of the Season of Creation. This year, the Season of Creation’s theme is “Peace with Creation”. We will be exploring this theme and how it relates to the congregation’s commitment to peace and ecological justice over the next five weeks, with weekly reflections and a prayer service together on October 1st.

There are wonderful resource materials available to aid you in your individual and communal prayer and worship during this time. Catholic Climate Covenant offers program material for the Feast of St. Francis that can be used throughout the Season of Creation. It has beautiful art, poetry, reflections, and meditations. The Laudato Si’ Movement’s monthly prayer guide and reflections are also made to be used during the Season of Creation. Finally, the celebration guide from seasonofcreation.org offers a prayer service and ideas for how to celebrate.

This Season of Creation, let us thank God for the gift of this beautiful planet, and ask how we may ensure that all life can enjoy it.
