Frances Krumpelman, SCN: Frances Rita Krumpelman, SCN, 97, (formerly Sister Maria Frances) was born May 22, 1929, in Louisville, Ky., to George and Leona (Buckman) Krumpelman. She died June 1, 2026, in Nazareth, Ky. She was a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 76 years.
Her love of research, writing, and history was clear as she served as curator for Heritage Hall at Nazareth. Sister Frances enjoyed teaching visitors about the SCN Community and the historical buildings on campus. She also enjoyed interviewing and telling the stories of her Sisters in Community. “Living at Nazareth is grace untold,” she said.
The Funeral Mass for Sister Frances will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 5, in St. Vincent de Paul Church. Burial will follow in the Nazareth Cemetery. The Mass will be streamed at nazareth.org/live.

Fan Giveaway – June 18: The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth will host a free summer box fan giveaway for the general public at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at the Nazareth Motherhouse Campus. Fans will be distributed along Cemetery Drive while supplies last. This giveaway is made possible through the generosity of donors to the Kentucky Gives Day campaign and is intended to help local families stay safe during the summer heat.
During the giveaway, cars will be routed along Cemetery Drive for fan pickup and will exit around Holy Family Circle. Cemetery Drive will be closed to thru traffic during this time. Please plan accordingly.
Super Raffle – Fewer than 600 Tickets Left: Tickets for the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth Super Raffle are selling fast, and there are fewer than 600 tickets left. The grand prize is $20,000! Only 3,000 tickets will be sold in total. The drawing will be held on July 10, 2026, at 1 p.m., live from Nazareth, Kentucky. SCN/A Vacation at Camp Maria: Aug. 12-20, 2026, you are invited to join the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and Associates for a time of prayer, rest, and renewal at Camp Maria Retreat Center in Leonardtown, Maryland. The SCNs and Associates vacation runs Aug 12–20, 2026. The cost is $300 per person and includes meals. Register online at campmaria.org or mail this flyer with payment.
Celebrate the Journey: Join the Office of Mission Advancement on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, for Celebrate the Journey. Celebrate the Journey will bring together donors, friends, Associates, Volunteers, and community members to celebrate the wonderful work of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. It will begin at 10:50 a.m. with Mass in St. Vincent de Paul Church, followed by a luncheon at noon and a short presentation. Immediately following the lunch, guests are invited to join Nazareth experiences. More details will be shared closer to the event date.
