SCN Center closed for Thanksgiving: The SCN Center will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday on Nov. 27 and 28, 2025. The office will reopen on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025.
Thank You from Jackulin Jesu, SCN:
My dear Sisters, Associates, colleagues, and friends,
With a heart full of deep gratitude, I thank each of you for your gracious hospitality, understanding, and the profound inspiration you offered me during my fourteen and a half months in the Patna and Bangalore Provinces. Your life and ministry—rooted in the spirit of Mother Catherine and responsive to the needs of our times—touched me in lasting ways. It was a true joy and privilege to witness, share, and be part of the Mission alive in you.
My special thanks for the many prayers and blessings offered throughout the Congregation for my return to Nazareth and for my safe journey. Indeed, God’s light continued to shine through your hope, your fidelity, and your loving accompaniment.
I am deeply grateful to all at Nazareth and in the Western Province for the warm and joy-filled welcome. The beautiful delegation at the Louisville airport, and every thoughtful gesture of welcome at Nazareth, reminded me once again how profoundly we are connected, united, and held in God’s loving embrace. It is a privilege to be back at Nazareth, this holy ground that carries our history, our hopes, and our shared Mission. Being among you fills my heart with renewed strength and gratitude, and I feel truly blessed by each one of you.
Thank you as well for your thoughtful birthday wishes—through cards, emails, phone calls, WhatsApp messages, and so many expressions of kindness. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude and know of my prayers for each of you as we continue our journey of faith and Mission entrusted to us.
With gratitude and prayer,
Jacky
Foundation Day – Dec. 1: SCNs Jackulin Jesu and Amrita Manjaly share the following message:
Dear Sisters and Associates,
Each year, on December 1st, we gather with grateful hearts to celebrate our SCN Foundation
Day — a day that invites us to pause, reflect, and rejoice in the legacy that continues to shape our
lives and mission.
This year, as we join hearts and hands across the globe, let us come together in a spirit of deep
gratitude for one another, for our Congregation, and for the world we are called to serve. In a
time when our global community longs for healing and hope, may we be bearers of light,
reflecting the compassion that was first kindled by our founders.
Let us allow that light to shine through our words, our actions, and our presence, illuminating the
path forward with kindness and courage. As we celebrate our shared mission, may we be
reminded that even the smallest act of love can ripple outward, touching lives and transforming
hearts.
May this Foundation Day be a time of joyful togetherness.

Sustainabyte: This Thursday, millions of people will enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. But what happens to all the food that doesn’t get eaten? A new study by ReFED, a non-profit organization that is working to stop food waste, reports that 320 million pounds of food will be discarded this Thanksgiving, the equivalent of feeding 267 million people. ReFED’s study included a survey to ask people what they did with leftover food. The good news is that almost half of cooks send leftovers home with guests and make them into other meals. However, too much of the food ends up in landfills where it decomposes to produce methane, a potent greenhouse gas. In addition to the food, all of the energy, land, labor, and water it takes to grow, harvest, transport, and package the food is also wasted. This wasted food is responsible for 7% of greenhouse gas emissions globally. This Thanksgiving, be conscious of what will happen to leftover food. Cook food proportional to the number of people who will be eating. Freeze or share leftovers. Compost food scraps or spoiled food. And have a sustainable Thanksgiving!
