At Nazareth Hospital Mokama, International Nurses Day 2026 was celebrated prayerfully and joyfully under the theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.” The program was coordinated by Sister Seema Joy Kujur and team, while the theme address was delivered by Sister Tessy Varghese Maliakkal.
The celebration included a prayer service and Holy Eucharistic celebration, during which special prayers were offered for nurses, health care workers, patients, and their families. The gathering gave thanks to God for the loving, compassionate, and selfless service of nurses who continue to bring healing, comfort, and hope to people in need.
Remembering the inspiring life of Florence Nightingale, Sister Tessy shared that nursing is a sacred ministry of love, care, and service. She encouraged nurses to continue their ministry with compassion and commitment, reminding them that every caring touch becomes a sign of God’s healing presence.
The administrator also expressed gratitude to Father Roque Michael Norbertine for his gracious presence, the daily celebration of Holy Mass, and his spiritual support to the hospital family during his stay for wellness treatment. Special prayers were offered for his health, wisdom, joy, and strength in his priestly ministry.
The day concluded with gratitude and appreciation for all nurses whose commitment continues to save lives, restore hope, and reflect the healing love of Christ in the world.
