Sister Chioma is a member of Sisters of the Living Word in the Chicagoland area. An Igbo woman of West African Nigerian descent, who has lived in different parts of the US for the past 2 decades. Chioma earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Misericordia University, a Masters in Social Work from the Catholic University of America and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies from Catholic Theological Union, Chicago. She is currently in the Doctor of Ministry Program at CTU with a Concentration in Spirituality. Chioma has been engaged in different nonprofit organizations in the Social Work field as an Independent Consultant Mental Health Therapist. She is the Director for the Center of the Study of Consecrated Life at CTU. Prior to that, she ministered with Catholic Charities of Chicago Archdiocese as a Psychotherapist and Parish Social Worker. Her primary areas of interest as a Practical Theology scholar and minister are related to today’s Consecrated Life, Reconciliation, Spirituality, Mental Health, Immigration, and Racism. She loves to travel and learn about other cultures and food. In her downtime, she likes to take a good walk by the lake, bike, garden and sew her own clothing.
