The Record, newspaper of the Archdiocese of Louisville, recently featured the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and their response to the catastrophic flooding in Nepal.
The Sept. 18 article, written by Marnie McAllister, shares how Sisters in Nepal are accompanying families affected by the disaster while working with local partners to provide shelter, bedding, clothing, hygiene supplies and other necessities. It also includes reflections from Sister Jackulin Jesu, president of the Congregation, and Sister Oliva Kujur, who has helped deliver relief to affected communities.
The article also looks at the wider impact of the flooding, including communities in Bihar, India, where Sisters and others are responding as floodwaters affect homes, clinics and families downstream.
