Sister Laurette DeChamplain celebrates 103rd Birthday!
Home
On Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, Sister Laurette DeChamplain celebrated her 103rd Birthday as well as her 85th Jubilee Year as a Holy Union Sister! This milestone makes Sr. Laurette our longest-lived Sister in the US Area.
Several Sisters joined Sr. Laurette at Clifton Nursing Home in Somerset, MA to celebrate these wonderful events, including Sisters Barbara Walsh, Mary Catherine Burns, Marilyn Bearne, Bernadette Sullivan, Kathee Corrigan, Mary Lou Sullivan, and nurse Heidi Caron-Guay. Together we prayed for Sr. Laurette who renewed her vows in celebration of her 85 years as a Holy Union Sister. We enjoyed a nice lunch followed by a birthday cake. Sr. Laurette enjoyed reading birthday cards and opening gifts which were sent by Sisters and friends.
Sister Laurette has served as a great example to us all. Her remarkable life of service has allowed her to play an important role in the lives of thousands of children across her 85 years as a Sister. Among the highlights of her teaching ministry, which she remembers fondly, were her field trips to France with her students which allowed these young people to be fully immersed in another culture, and helped them see the world from a different perspective.
Please remember Sr. Laurette in your continued prayer. We hope you enjoy the video slideshow of the day below.
