Dear Members of the Conference,
As the month of August approaches, we pause and ask, “What happened to summer?” Most of us have been busy with the activities that fill these summer months: travel, meetings, chapter, jubilee celebrations, retreats. It is our hope that you have had some opportunities for self-renewal and relaxation, too!
The Board of the Religious Formation Conference (RFC) invites your participation and input in nominating new members for board service. We are excited to welcome a slate of new board members this coming January who will partner with us to continue the good work that is being accomplished. As the RFC turns 70 years old, there is much to celebrate, and much still to do on behalf of the women and men we serve in formation.
The RFC Board is comprised of vowed religious men and women who represent the diversity of culture, gender, age and skills present among the current membership.
Learn more about our current board members here.
The following are eligible for RFC Board service: Vowed women and men religious whose congregations are members of the RFC and/or have experience on board committees such as finance, membership, programs, or congress planning. Our goal is to have a diverse board – ethnicity, background and age, as well as those with young adult, ongoing formation, and/or educational and program planning experience.
The Board Governance Committee has put together a nominating process to facilitate the selection of new board members. This includes:
- This letter (also available as a PDF)
- Board member responsibilities, expectations, and criteria/skill sets for potential Board members (PDF)
- Online nomination form
- Nominee response form (writable PDF)
If you would like to nominate someone for RFC Board membership (or self-nominate), please use the online nomination webform. If you have questions about board service, please don't hesitate to contact Sister Maco Cassetta, CND, Governance Committee chair, by email at cassetta.maco@gmail.com.

The RFC Board will review the nominations received and appoint new members this fall. Newly appointed board members will begin their three-year terms in January 2025.
The deadline for nominations is Monday, Sept. 9, 2024.
Thank you for your time and serious consideration of this important ministry.
