OBITUARY OF FR. EMMANUEL ARMANDI KIMORURU

Fr. Emmanuel Amandi Kimoruru was called to his Heavenly Father suddenly on Friday May 2nd 2025 as he was travelling from his home town for a short visit. The cause of his death seems to be the imbalance of hipertension of blood pressure and sugar.

Fr. Emmanuel Amandi Kimoruru was born on 23 January 1961 in Kingachi village Rombo. His parents are Amandi Jacob Machamecha and Anna Saimoni Mshiki. He was baptized on 06 February 1961, received his first Communion on 29 November 1971 and received the sacrament of Confirmation on 11 March 1972 in the same Parish of Usseri Rombo in the Catholic Diocese of Moshi. Fr. Emmanuel Kimoruru received his primary education at his own village, between 1971 – 1977. He obtained his secondary education at Moshi Technical School between 1978 – 1981. He continued his high School studies at Holy Ghost Seminary USA River between 1982 – 1984.

Fr. Emmanuel Kimoruru joined the formation Program of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood for the first year of formation on 15 August 1986 at St. Francis Xavier Itigi Singida. It should be noted that Fr. Kimoruru joined the CPPS after completing his Philosophy studies at St. Anthony Ntungamo Major Seminary in the Catholic Diocese of Bukoba between 1984-1986, as a candidate of the Holy Ghost – Spiritan Congregation. He continued with the CPPS formation Program in Rome Italy from 1988 up to his Ordination in 1992. Fr. Emmanuel Kimoruru received Minor Order of Lecter on 26 February 1989 and the Minor Order of Acolyte on 26 October 1990 while continuing his Theological Studies at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas – Angelicum Rome Italy. Fr. Emmanuel Amandi Kimoruru was definitively Incorporated into the Sociaty on 07 December 1991 and he was ordained Deacon on 08 February 1992 at the the Most Precious Blood Parish in Via Narni Rome Italy. He was ordained Priest on 14 June 1992 at the same Parish.

After his ordination, Fr. Emmanuel Kimoruru served as Assistant Formation Director at the Italian Province Formation House in Via Narni Rome between 1992 – 1993, while pursuing a Degree in Philosophy at the Pontifical Angelicum University. Before completing his studies, he was asked to return to Tanzania for ministry and on 7 July 1993 he was assigned to serve at the Precious Blood Parish in Itigi as Assistant Parish Priest. In 1998 Fr. Kimoruru was transferred to Kintinku Parish where he served until 2008. In the same year he spent a short time at the CPPS Headquarters in Kisasa Dodoma before being sent to Chibumagwa Prish where he served until 2014. Fr. Kimoruru was transferred to Tegeta Parish serving as Assistant Parish Priest until 2024 when he was transferred to Manyoni where he served until his last moment.

We thank God for the gift of life and vocation of Fr. Emmanuel Kimoruru. God blessed him with many good gifts that he shared with many people who lived and ministered with him. Fr. Kimoruru had avery good sense of humour, cheerful and very hardworking. All those who lived with him will cherish him for his availability to share the gifts that God had given him, especially the crafts of his hands and his generosity in caring for people. He always fulfilled his duties in Community first before looking at his own needs.

The vigil liturgy began with the celebration of holy Mass for the deceased in the Ascension Church Parish in Manyoni on Tuesday evening May 6th; the funeral Mass was presided over by the Diocesan Bishop Mons. Edward Mapunda bishop of Singida on Wednesday morning of May 7th 2025.
