For over two centuries, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth have stood with the poor and marginalized, responding courageously to the needs of the times. Today, our mission continues with the same spirit of dedication and hope that inspired our founding in 1812.

From the rolling hills of Kentucky to communities across the globe in Belize, Botswana, India, Nepal, and Kenya, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth are a powerful presence in education, health care, social justice advocacy, and environmental stewardship.

Education That Uplifts

Access to education is a cornerstone of the Sisters’ mission. The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth have founded and sustained schools that serve as places of learning and safe spaces for children to grow, thrive, and imagine new futures. Whether providing a life of dignity to girls born in brothels, to supporting children with in the most rural villages, the Sisters are teachers of the heart and mind.

Healing the Sick and Caring for the Vulnerable

Health care has always been a vital expression of the Sisters’ work. From clinics in underserved regions to programs that support the needs of the elderly and those who are dying, the Sisters provide healing with dignity and compassion. Through innovative programs and dedicated service, Sisters offer both medical care and spiritual comfort where it’s needed most.

Advocating for Justice

The Gospel calls us to act justly. The Sisters take that call seriously through action on climate justice, anti-racism, immigration reform, and the rights of women and children. The SCNs partner with local organizations, march for change, and speak out against injustice in every form.

Join Us in Our Mission

You don’t have to be a Sister to support the SCN mission. Thousands of Associates, volunteers, donors, and prayer partners walk with us on this journey each day. Whether you support our ministries financially, volunteer your time, or simply share our story, your presence matters.
