Nazareth’s fields are bursting with summer blooms this June. There are a variety of native wildflowers in the fields including blackeyed susans, greyheaded coneflowers, purple coneflowers, fleabane, beebalm and more. These flowers, alongside the fields’ native grasses, provide vital habitat for pollinators, help to improve soil quality, and work to protect native biodiversity.
They also bring joy to the people who come to walk on campus. A woman on the walking path also taking pictures of the flowers in bloom. She said, “I love the flowers so much. This place [Nazareth] is my happy space. I live in a cramped apartment, so I come here all the time because it is so peaceful and beautiful.”
Nazareth’s fields are a living example of the Sisters’ mission to care for all creation and an invitation to others to rejoice in the beauty of our common home.
