Just who is planning for the RFC’s future? We all are! Planning activities flowing from the GHR grant which is funding the RFC’s strategic/emergent planning process have included not only the Steering Committee (pictured), but also the RFC Board and, most important, RFC members.
At the Board and Steering Committee planning retreat in Tucson, AZ, in early February, a draft of new Mission and Vision Statements was prepared; three major goals for the Conference and objectives for each goal were identified. Subsequently, the RFC membership was surveyed regarding the mission/vision statements, goals and objectives. The return rate for the survey was 61%, an excellent outcome. All elements of the plan of the plan were affirmed, within a range of 90-96%. Literally hundreds of helpful comments were offered.
The Steering Committee and the Board worked with all this data, further refining its earlier work. The Board approved the basic plan, with the understanding that further editing might be needed, at its recent meeting and it will be presented to RFC members and friends at the National Meeting during Congress 2017. Be sure to be there!
