Saint Luke Institute (SLI), an independent, international Catholic mental health treatment center for priests, deacons, and religious, is pleased to announce expansion of housing options for participants in its Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Agreements with two religious houses in the Washington, D.C. area – one for women and one for men – allow for space to meet the housing needs of all IOP participants. These housing arrangements include meals and opportunities for Mass, Liturgy of the Hours, and more, while also fostering community among those in the IOP.

Participants live in these religious communities while receiving care at Saint Luke Institute in Silver Spring, Maryland. Licensed SLI clinicians are available to clients and the community for telephone consultation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as needed. Both religious houses are accessible to Metro (the Washington, D.C.-area subway), as well as to buses, and they offer parking for private cars, enabling easy access to our office suite for our five-day-a-week comprehensive care. SLI’s Intensive Outpaitent Program offers high quality mental health and spiritual care that is less expensive than residential treatment, even when the cost of housing in one of these religious communities is considered.

These two religious houses are also options for those being served by SLI’s five-day comprehensive Clinical Evaluations at our Silver Spring location.

All housing arrangements, including costs, are ultimately determined by the client and his or her ecclesiastical superior. Payments for housing and meals are made directly to the religious house.
