In honor of the 2024 Season of Creation, Sisters and Associate members from across the congregation submitted photos and videos of their harvests. From rural farms in India to balcony gardens in Louisville, SCNs and SCNAs have been patiently cultivating their own corners of creation all season.

The symbol for this year’s Season of Creation was “the first fruits of hope”. Gardening is an exercise in hope; as Romans 8:25 says: if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. When the seeds are first sown in a garden, you don’t know yet what the harvest will be. But you plant the seeds in spite of this uncertainty, because you have hope that your actions and patience will be rewarded with time.

This Harvest Bounty video is a celebration of the generosity and goodness of our Creator, from whom we derive all hope. Thank you to everyone who enthusiastically sent in photos and videos of their harvests. We apologize for the delay in this video coming out; we were still receiving new content even after the Season of Creation officially ended.

(And thank you to Ashley Stout, AmeriCorps member in the Office of Ecological Sustainability, for putting the video together.)
