SCN Vice-President Amrita Manjaly, SCN, has made it back to Nazareth! She arrived in Louisville on Tuesday, March 11th. Sister Amrita traveled to India on December 30 where she spent time visiting her Sisters in Community and the SCN ministries.
Some highlights:
- Sister Amrita returned to Ranchi after 50 years. She visited special places that made her trip unforgettable. She met the Archbishop of Ranchi and visited the Cathedral, St. Albert’s Seminary, and Bagaicha.
- In Chaibasa, Sister Amrita visited religious houses and villages of the Sisters’ ministries. She was warmly welcomed by the staff of St. Xavier’s Middle School and Mahila Kalyan Kendra. An elderly woman shared how the Sisters, through the Mahila Kalyan Kendra, a Women’s Welfare Center, transformed lives.
- She visited Dharuhera, where she was welcomed by the Sisters there. Three young women under the care of the Sisters, Sapna from Bangalore, Nandini from Faridabad, and Chaya from Haryana, were also present to greet them. Dharuhera is actively engaged in environmental care and skills training for young girls. The entire house now runs on solar energy, eliminating power cuts for the Sisters.
